My very marvellous friends, Gareth and Emma, asked me to be their official unofficial photographer at their wedding.
Gareth requested I use his classic Nikon F3 SLR using a Nikkor 35mm f/2D lens. We chose black and white Kodak T-Max 400 and Kodak Tri-X 400 film for stability, indoor/outdoor use and quality of grain. All the photographs were hand-held without flash, but with the f/2 and 400 speed film, and a very steady hand, even inside shots late in the day were possible.
The photographs I’ve chosen here aim to show the capabilities of the lens and film as well as give a flavour of the wonderful late summer day. I’ve done some very minimal post-production and cropping as might be done when developing film and to compensate for the transfer from film to digital.
